Apurvi Chandela, who just turned 23 years old 3 days ago, created history by breaking a world record on her way to winning gold at the 10m air rifle event at Swedish Cup Grand Prix. Let's find out a little more about India's latest sports sensation.

'' Apurvi was born 4 Jan, 1993 in a Chandela Rajput family in Jaipur.

'' She stands at 5 feet and 1 inch.

'' Her father, Kuldeep Singh Chandela is a hotelier and her mother is Bindu Rathore.

'' She completed her schooling at Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' School in Jaipur.

'' She shot to fame by winning the gold medal at the 10m rifle event at National shooting championships in 2012.

'' The highlight of her career so far is winning the gold medal at 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.

'' That same year she won 4 medals at the Intershoot Championships at The Hague.

'' She recently broke a world record at Swedish Cup Grand Prix in the 10m rifle event when she shot 211.2, surpassing Chinese Olympic gold medallist Yi Siling, who previously held the record at 211.
