Sahara Force India Academy racing champ, who trains in the UK, celebrated Navroze with family at Dadar home after four year

Sahara Force India Academy driver Jehan Daruvala's rising career in motorsport keeps him away from family for long periods. It's no wonder then that the Mumbai-based teenage racing sensation was glad to be home for Parsi New Year (August 18) this time round - after a gap of four years.

"I moved to the United Kingdom in 2013. Before that, I used to be busy with my karting. So I never got much time to celebrate functions with my family. I always look forward to spending time with my parents (mother Kainaz and dad Khurshed) and sister Delna.
This year was special because I got to eat home-cooked dhansak (a traditional Parsi preparation of lentils) at Navroze. I missed it dearly," said the 16-year-old Dadar resident, who otherwise maintains a strict diet given the demands of his sport.

"I love food, but I need to follow a prescribed routine to manage my weight. I avoid eating fried food and heavy meals at night. That has helped me keep fit apart from the cardiovascular training that I do everyday for two hours," said Jehan, who won the best rookie trophy on conclusion of Round 5 of the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC series in Assen (Netherlands) earlier this month.
Besides motorsport, Jehan is currently hooked on to kabaddi and even plays the sport with friends in both England and India. "I like playing badminton and table tennis, but lately, I've taken a liking to kabaddi. I follow the Pro Kabaddi League on TV in my spare time. It's a fun sport," added Jehan, who heads to Europe next week, where a packed professional schedule awaits him. "I'll be participating in seven races across an eight-week time frame," he said.
