Lucie Safarova
Former Czech Republic tennis star Lucie Safarova recently announced the arrival of her daughter, Lea and said nothing beats that feeling.
Five-time doubles Grand Slam title winner, Safarova, 32, retired from tennis this year as she wanted to start a family.
The former World No. 5, who is married to Czech hockey star Tomas Plekanec, took to Instagram to announce the news. "I woke up this morning as a mom...nothing beats that feeling! Welcome to our family Lea," Safarova wrote alongside a picture (top) of her hand holding a baby's hand.
Lucie Safarova retired from the game after the 2019 Australian Open. In doubles competition, Safarova has won the Australian Open in 2015 and 2017, French Open in 2015 and 2017, as well as the US Open in 2016.
Safarova announced in July 2019 that she and partner Tomas Plekanec were expecting a baby. She previously dated tennis star Tomas Berdych.
