Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led India Blue succumbed to a humiliating seven-wicket defeat against India Red in the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy final played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, yesterday.

It was a woeful performance from India Blue's experienced batting line-up which apart from Dhoni had Yusuf Pathan, Abhishek Nayar and Wasim Jaffer. Blue were all out for 84 in 27.1 overs.

Naman Ojha and Suresh Kumar were out for ducks in the first over itself. In a shocking move, Dhoni then sent in Harbhajan Singh at No 4. It was too much to expect Harbhajan to measure up against a rampaging Tyagi. The Punjab player was out on eight at the total of 19.

Dhoni and Pathan perished trying to hit their ways out of trouble while Nayar was too defensive and failed.
