The former world champion and his brother Haroon, who is also a boxer, were ambushed in Birmingham in the wee hours of the day while returning to their Bolton home following a night out.
According to witnesses, at least six men used a 4x4 car to try and block the brothers' path but the Khans fought back. Their assailants eventually fled from the scene.
A witness to the incident told The Sun, "One (of the men) slapped Amir and clipped him on the lip but Amir pulled back and knocked him out cold.
"Then five of them went for Amir and Haroon but they stood their ground and these guys got dropped one by one."
The West Midlands police confirmed they had been called to reports of a disturbance in Adelaide Street at 1.23am, but no arrests were made.
ââOfficers arrived within minutes but found no sign of any disorder and received no reports of any offences having been committed. Police left the scene a short time later," a spokesman told The Birmingham Mail.
Dad condemns fight
Meanwhile, the siblings' father Shah Khan told The Birmingham Mail that he is not impressed with his sons' heroics and is keen to draw a line under the âsilly' incident. "It happened, it is over," he said. "In reality, if they wanted the car, they could have it. It's insured. You should walk away, turn away. It takes a bigger man to not get involved," he added.
