Antonio De Souza and Cathedral & John Connon School's clinched the Boys and Girls u-14 title respectively in the South Mumbai Junior Soccer Challenge 2009 at the Cooperage yesterday.


Antonio De Souza and Cathedral & John Connon School's clinched the Boys and Girls u-14 title respectively in the South Mumbai Junior Soccer Challenge 2009 at the Cooperage yesterday.

In the boys' u-14 final, Antonio De Souza defeated Sauu00a0 Ushadevi Pandurang Waghe High School, Colaba 9-8 via the tie-breaker. The teams were tied with a goal apiece at the end of regulation time. In the girls' final, Cathedral 'B' beat Convent of Jesus and Mary, Fort 2-0. For Antonio De Souza, Karim Shaikh, Faizan Ansari, Kashif Khan scored two goals each, while Deepesh Vaidya, Anees Rehman, and Aveel Khan scored one goal each. For Sau Ushadevi Pandurang Waghe, Akshay Mehar, Dhruvesh Nijap and Lavesh Mehar scored two goals, while Aveel Khan and Deepesh Vaidya chipped in with one goal. In the girls' u-14 final, Anam Alwani and Serena Jethmalani scored one goal each for Cathedral and John Connon School 'B'.

In the boys u-11 final, Alderich Fernandes and Aryan Sood's goals helped Campion defeat Mominpura Municipal Urdu School 2-0, while in the girls' final, Zarastyn Mistry's brace gave J B Petit a 2-0 win over Convent of Jesus and Mary, Fort.u00a0
