Former World No 1 Serb's new precious diamond ring creates a stir in Auckland
Auckland: Tennis ace Ana Ivanovic began the new year in style, sporting a USD 20,000 (Rs 13 lakh approximately) champagne diamond ring gifted to her by a luxury jewellery boutique here, sparking off rumours of a possible engagement to boyfriend and Manchester United star Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The Serbian however, refused to speak about her relationship with the German football World Cup-winning midfielder that completed 12 months in September.
Though reports suggested that Schweinsteiger recently proposed to Ivanovic and that she's even considering relocating to Manchester to be closer to her man, when asked about the affair, Ivanovic politely brushed it off saying: "That's personal."

Former World No 1 Ivanovic, who won the Auckland Classic here last year beating Venus Williams in the final, was at the jewellery store with her mother and aunt and was seen wearing the new champagne ring on the third finger of her right hand as she left.
Incidentally, Ivanovic has another sparkler on the third finger of her left hand - traditionally the finger where an engagement ring is worn - and that's what first sparked off wedding rumours over six months ago when she was first seen wearing it at Wimbledon.
Neither Ivanovic (28) or Schweinsteiger (31) however have ever spoken about their relationship.
