Alex Ferguson believes the strife so many of Europe's big clubs have endured in the Champions League this season proves Manchester United's achievement in reaching consecutive finals has been badly underestimated.


Alex Ferguson believes the strife so many of Europe's big clubs have endured in the Champions League this season proves Manchester United's achievement in reaching consecutive finals has been badly underestimated.
While United have qualified for the knockout phase, some of their biggest rivals are not yet through.

"There are one or two more difficult groups than we anticipated. The one with Rubin Kazan, Barcelona, Dynamo Kiev and Inter is a Group of Death. Madrid, Milan are in the same group and finding it difficult. Bayern are struggling and Liverpool may be another big team out. It shows how tough it is to retain the Cup. We nearly did and may be our achievement is underestimated," said Ferguson.
