"My responsibility and commitment to football have again risen in the wake of being appointed as All India Football Federation advisor as I am looking after the overall issues of the game. Can't give enough time for my seat in the event of a win and nomination by the party," Bhutia told reporters here.
"But I am ready to take part in campaigning (if asked)," Bhutia, who had unsuccessfully contested on TMC ticket from Darjeeling in last Lok Sabha polls, said.
Asked to comment on the present political situation in the Hills and the prospect of Morcha, Bhutia refused to say anything.
On football front, he expressed wish that East Bengal will emerge winners in this edition of I-league.
Bhutia came to this city to attend a local function.
