India's star batsman Virat Kohli is set to feature in the third and final T20I clash against Afghanistan. He has not played a T20I game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium since September 2019
During the match, Virat Kohli will be eyeing two of the important records in the shortest format of the game
The right-hander is just 24 runs shy from becoming the highest T20I run-scorer at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Currently, he has 116 runs in five T20Is played at the stadium including one half-century. His highest score is 72 runs*
So far, Glenn Maxwell is the leading run-scorer in T20Is at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Australian all-rounder has played just two matches in Bengaluru in which he has registered 139 runs including one century. His highest score is 113 runs*
With this, the Indian star Kohli also needs six runs to become the first Indian batsman and fourth batsman to complete 12,000 runs in T20 cricket
Previously, only West Indies legends Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Pakistan's Shoaib Malik have achieved the feat. Gayle enjoys the top spot with 14,562 runs, followed by Malik with 12,993 runs and Pollard with 12,430 runs in the shortest format of the game
