Kevin Pietersen can rightly be called the pioneer of England's ultra aggressive limited-overs approach. The tall, powerful, and elegant right hander was truly ahead of his time. He could take down opposition bowlers just as easily as he could compile hundreds. Kevin Pietersen, a South Africa-born English player, made his international debut against Zimbabwe in an ODI match in 2004
Pietersen made his Test debut in an Ashes Test at Lord's where he put his name up in lights with back-to-back 50s
Pietersen went on to play 104 Test matches, scoring more than 8000 runs at an average of 47.28 which included 23 hundreds
Pietersen played 136 ODIs and 37 T20Is averaging 40.73 and 37.93 respectively. He was also the Man of the Tournament in England's 2010 World T20 victory
Kevin also had IPL stints with the Delhi Daredevils and the Rising Pune Supergiants. Overall he played 36 IPL games in which he averaged a shade above 37 at a strike rate of 134.72. He also has an IPL century to his name
Following the end of his international career, Pietersen became a T20 globetrotter who featured in leagues such as the Big Bash, the Caribbean Premier League, and the Pakistan Super League to name a few
Pietersen has taken up cricket commentary and is often heard lending his opinions in the IPL as well as during England's international matches
Pietersen is married to Jessica Taylor, and the pair have two children together
