As the T20 World Cup 2024 is inching closer, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that if the team manages to win the title, each player in the squad will get USD 100,000. The T20 World Cup 2024 is set to begin in June.
The PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi had a discussion of around two hours with the players before making the announcement. The discussion took place just before the departure of Paksitan players for their upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England.

Following the announcement, PCB chief Naqvi said that the prize money held no importance compared to lifting the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, expressing the hope that the team would raise the Pakistan flag. The biggest rivalry of cricket, India vs Pakistan is set to be played on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in the USA.

"Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi announced to give 100,000 dollars prize to every player for winning the T20 World Cup," the PCB posted on social media.

He also told players not to care about anyone and just play for the country by demonstrating teamwork.
Naqvi further said that all the players were united while also expressing the hope that fast-bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi would deliver a great performance ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.
"The country has a lot of expectations from you. You have to fulfil them", he told the players.
During the visit, the chairman also handed a special shirt to players. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan was awarded a shirt for achieving the milestone of 3,000 T20 runs. Speedster Naseem Shah also received a shirt for completing 100 T20 wickets.
Following the T20 World Cup 2024, Trinidad's Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley revealed that the tournament has received a terror threat. PM Rowley has asserted that "extra effort in national security preparations and response readiness" will be taken in to neutralise the danger.
