Canada Nicholas Kirton's gritty 49 runs helped the side to post 137 runs in the T20 World Cup 2024 match against Ireland at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. Facing 35 balls, Kirton played a knock of 49 runs which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. Canada now needs to chase a total of 138 runs to win the T20 World Cup 2024 match against Ireland.

Having needed to bat first in the T20 World Cup 2024 match against Ireland, Canada lost the wickets of their opening batsmen Aaron Johnson and Navneet Dhaliwal in a quick session. Despite losing the wickets in regular intervals, Nicholas Kirton stood strong and accumulated 49 runs. He was shouldered by Shreyas Movva who smashed 37 runs. His knock came in 36 deliveries including 3 fours. Movva was later run out by Barry McCarthy. Pargat Singh and Dilpreet Bajwa registered 18 and 7 runs, respectively. Captain Saad Bin Zafar stayed unbeaten on one run. Dillon Heyliger departed on a duck.

Ireland's Craig Young and Barry McCarthy claimed two wickets each in the T20 World Cup 2024 match against Canada. Despite picking two wickets, Young was smashed for 32 runs and McCarthy conceded 24 runs. Mark Adair and Gareth Delany too registered one wicket each to their names. Completing his quota of four overs, Adair leaked 23 runs. Followed by Delany who bowled just two overs was bashed for 11 runs. Curtis Campher and Joshua Little went wicketless in the T20 World Cup 2024 match against Canada. Little was the most expensive bowler from Ireland's perspective as he conceded 37 runs in his four over without claiming any wickets. He was unable to claim any wickets but caught two catches in the match to dismiss Paragat Singh and Dillon Heyliger.
