Ross Taylor, the veteran NZ batter, bid farewell to cricket today after playing 16 years of splendid cricket. Fittingly, in his final match, he took a catch to seal his team's victory over the Netherlands by 115 runs. Ross has 40 international centuries to his name alongside three double centuries and 93 half-centuries.
After winning the toss, New Zealand went on to score 333 after eight wicket loss with Martin Guptill and Will Young scoring centuries for themselves. In the final ODI match of the series, Matt Henry took 4 wickets as the Netherlands was bowled out for 218 to hand New Zealand a comfortable 115-run victory at the Seddon Park in Hamilton.
New Zealand opening batsman, Martin Guptill expresses his emotions and shares a heartfelt tribute to Ross Taylor, "This is it; this is the last time we saw him walk out of the New Zealand team. It'll be even more emotional when we wake up tomorrow morning and Ross is no longer going to be there. It will be tough, but we will have a good night tonight celebrating the Netherlands vs New Zealand series. Rosco (Ross Taylor) is an absolute legend and all of us are going to miss him around the group. He has been phenomenal and absolutely lovely and hopefully we can catch up over the coming years."
