Having won the toss, Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bowl first in the IPL 2024 match against Gujarat Titans. Opening the innings for GT, Wriddhiman Saha continued his poor form in the IPL 2024. Captain Shubman Gill scored two runs before getting dismissed by Mohammed Siraj. Sai Sudharsan who has been a consistent performer for Gujarat too failed to make an impact against Bengaluru. Despite losing early wickets, Shahrukh Khan and David Miller stood strong. Shahrukh accumulated 37 runs in 24 balls including 5 fours and 1 six. Miller, on the other hand, scored 30 runs off 20 deliveries. His knock was laced with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Rahul Tewatia scored 35 runs but was dismissed by Yash Dayal. Facing 14 balls, premier spinner Rashid Khan scored 18 runs but was soon bowled by Dayal.

Shahrukh Khan was the top performer for GT in the IPL 2024 match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Lead pacer Mohammed Siraj, Yash Daya and Vyshak Vijay Kumar registered two wickets each to their names. Cameron Green and spinner Karn Sharma too registered one wicket each to their names. Karn Sharma was the most expensive bowler from Bengaluru's perspective. Bowling three overs, he conceded 42 runs and bagged one wicket.
Stalwart batsman Virat Kohli was the standout performer in the first innings. He ran out the dangerous Shahrukh Khan and also took a catch to dismiss Sai Sudharsan. Kohli is just nine runs away from retaining the top spot on the charts of the leading run-scorers.
