Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) displayed their famed fighting spirit to end a three-match losing streak and beat Punjab Kings by six wickets in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Experienced all-rounder Kieron Pollard (2-8), first sent back key Punjab players, skipper KL Rahul (21) and Chris Gayle (1) in one over. He returned to score an unbeaten 15 off seven balls, and along with Hardik Pandya's unbeaten 30-ball 40 not out (4x4, 2x6), ensured MI successfully chased Punjab's 135-6 with six balls to spare. Saurabh Tiwary, who was dropped in the earlier game, top-scored for MI with 45 off 37 balls.

"There is a lot of pressure on us to win all the games at the backend. But, what we have in our dressing room is the belief in one another that we can get ourselves out of any tight situation at any time. This is because we have guys, who have been in tough situations in different scenarios and at different times. So, I think the biggest thing for us is belief. And, at the end of it, we have put ourselves in a position that we are in now," Pollard said during the virtual press conference.
