Batting stalwart Ajinkya Rahane, who gained universal admiration for the way he led the Indian team in Australia earlier this year, turned 33 on Sunday.
Rahane, nicknamed Jinks, is currently with the India team in England for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand, which will be followed by a five-match Test series against the hosts.
There were no shortage of wishes on social media. We reproduce some of them:

Ajinkya Rahane's wife Radhika Dhopavkar shared a couple of photos and had a heartwarming birthday wish for him. She wrote, 'To the boy I loved and the man I love even more. Thank you for all that you are and all that you continue to be. Happy birthday @ajinkyarahane.'
R Ashwin's wife Prithi Narayanan commented on Radhika's photos and wrote, "Happy birthday, so well get cake."
VVS Laxman shared a picture of Rahane and wished him, 'Happy Birthday to a man who has played such an instrumental role in India reaching the WTC finals. Most runs for India in WTC-1095 Runs and outstanding leadership which led to an unforgettable series win in Australia. Wish you ever more success @ajinkyarahane.'

The International Cricket Council wrote, 'Happy birthday, @ajinkyarahane88! He has scored 7920 runs in 183 internationals so far and recently led India to the famous Border-Gavaskar Trophy victory in Australia in 2020-21.'
