Spin legend Prasanna wants to see Piyush Chawla play against England on Sunday
Legendary off-spinner Erapalli Prasanna reckons India should add Piyush Chawla to their bowling attack for tomorrow's World Cup fixture against England.u00a0 Team sources indicate that Chawla, who took 4-31 against Australia here at Chinnaswamy Stadium during India's warm-up against the defending champions earlier this month, is likely to replace S Sreesanth in the XI.
Despite registering a 87-run win against Bangladesh, India conceded 283 runs at Mirpur last week.u00a0 Prasanna said that adding Chawla would make India's bowling arsenal more potent. "Despite the fact we beat Bangladesh comprehensively, the team management should look a little closer at why the bowlers conceded 283 runs. That issue needs to be addressed," he told MiD DAY.
"I was very impressed with the way he bowled against Australia in that warm-up game. He seems to have a little more control over his googlies. However, my suggestion to him is to get closer to the stumps, and the crease. Right now, he is bowling wide of the stumps and away from the crease. That way he won't get leg-before decisions in his favour.
He needs to make that adjustment," added the 71-year old legend from Karnataka. Prasanna said that the English batsmen are a little susceptive against quality spin bowling - and would suffer when in a tight spot - against Harbhajan Singh and Chawla.

If Harbhajan can flight the ball more, and attack, with Chawla attacking from the other end, England's middle-order batting could be under pressure. From here on, I think Dhoni will go in with two specialist spinners in most games," said Prasanna.
