Ishant had walked off the field after bowling just 5.3 overs on the opening day of the first warm-up game on Thursday, although that the Indian management and senior fast bowler Zaheer Khan dismissed the seriousness of the injury.
"He visited a local doctor but he's himself aware of this condition. He is aware of what needs to be done to let the ankle heal quickly. You cannot always consult doctors and fix such niggles. I don't think he'll play the second warm-up but we are confident that he'll play the first Test match," a member of the team management said on condition of anonymity.u00a0
Batsman Rohit Sharma maintained that the team wasn't worried about Ishant's injury. "There is no really worry... he's fine. He has seen a doctor and should be fit for the first Test," he said.u00a0Ishant had previously injured his left ankle during the Birmingham Test against England earlier this year.
