India and Sri Lanka could have met in the 2003 World Cup final if the latter hadn't collapsed against Australia on a slow and low surface at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth. Come Saturday, there's a strong possibility this dream final would take place at Wankhede Stadium.

The locals here, who are almost certain that their side have booked their ticket to Mumbai, want India in the final, and not Pakistan. "We want to face India - it will be a dream final. Because both the countries have faced each other a lot in the last few years, both know each other's weaknesses. Pakistan is a dangerous side, Sri Lanka would be scared of them," Malinda Wickramasekera, an avid cricket fan, said. "We have been pleading the cricket board to organise tickets for the final and visas. We are very keen to visit Mumbai, it will be a historic night," he added. Another fan Ravi Peiris said: "We have almost forgotten that there's a match against New Zealand. Everyone is looking forward to Saturday. We are winning the World Cup again, and this time it's for Murali.
