"I am really excited to be in the Test squad, but will definitely miss Bhajji. Every cricketer in Punjab idolises Harbhajan and I am no different," Sharma told SUNDAY MiD DAY on Saturday.

Sharma, who shot into limelight in the Indian Premier League IV for Pune Warriors, is now looking forward to capitalise on the quality time he has spent in the National Cricket Academy (NCA). "Few years in NCA helped me get a taste of top class cricket and tips from Anilbhai (Kumble) were something I gained there.

Anilbhai is a role model for every young spinner in the country. He taught me a lot of things for which I will remain obliged to him forever," Sharma said.

Hope for the best
Asked about his plan if he gets to make Test debut, the Punjab leggie seemed equipped with his answer. "It's needless to mention that I will give 100 percent to justify the selection. I am hoping for the best," the lanky leg-spinner stated.
