Tottenham striker Peter Crouch has said he will not quit international football despite the latest snub by England boss Fabio Capello.

The Spurs striker, 30, was angry at failing to even be a sub against Switzerland and has started in just five of 37 England games under Capello.

Crouch was thinking of following Ben Foster, Paul Robinson and Wes Brown by making himself unavailable for his country.

But after weighing up his options, he decided to continue and hopes to be given a run-out in the friendly against Holland in August.

"No matter what people think about individuals, it is about playing for your country. You turn up regardless. I would have turned up if I was number 23 in the squad," The Sun quoted Crouch, as saying.

"I come from a generation where I couldn't even contemplate such a thing. I find it amazing. If I got picked at 41, I would have played, even if I thought I would make a fool of myself. I just wanted to play for my country," he added.

Crouch, who was not fully fit due to a back injury sustained with Spurs, has scored 22 times in 42 appearances for England but his form has never convinced Capello.u00a0
