Kingsu00a0XI Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist delighted over Chawla and Praveen's inclusion in India's World Cup squad
I not just the fans and family of Piyush Chawla and Praveen Kumar who are happy with their inclusion in the Indian squad for the World Cup. Kings XI Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist is also delighted to have two players from his IPL team in the World Cup squad.
"Chawla and Praveen are impressive young cricketers. Chawla has been an integral part of Kings XI Punjab for three years and I expect a lot from him. As far as Praveen is concerned, he impressed me in his first tour to Australia in 2007-08. Over the last few years he has emerged as a formidable swing bowler for India. He did exceedingly well for the Royal Challengers Bangalore," said Gilchrist.
Although, the IPL IV auction saw few takers for those who were on the wrong side of 30, Gilchrist despite being the third oldest player was an exception in the Bangalore auction.u00a0
"I am really happy to be back again. At this moment, I am not sure about when will I come to India, but I am quite keen to bat and keep wickets again. I am pleased with this appointment. We need to rebuild the side. It was a nice acknowledgement of my contribution in international cricket as well as in the three IPLs," said the former skipper, who led the Deccan Chargers to IPL II title.
