Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for alleged attempts to obstruct minimum wage increases in the capital. During a press conference, she emphasized that Arvind Kejriwal`s government has set the highest minimum wages in the country to protect the interests of the poor. Atishi claimed that the BJP has consistently worked against workers, recalling past efforts in 2016-2017 when the BJP blocked wage increases. Despite opposition, she noted that the Delhi government successfully fought for a court order to raise the minimum wage. Atishi contrasted this with BJP-ruled states, where wages are significantly lower, asserting that the BJP not only pays less but also seeks to undermine wage progress in Delhi. She reaffirmed the Delhi government`s commitment to further increasing the minimum wage, underscoring its dedication to the welfare of the working class.
