Hunger striking activist Irom Sharmila urged the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to repeal a law originating in the British colonial era that gives security forces wide powers to search, enter property and shoot on sight, before pressing the United Nations for a permanent candidature to the UN Security Council (UNSC).
