Students wore black badges as a symbol of their peaceful protest against the tragic deaths of their fellow students.

Demonstrators held placards displaying their anger and frustration over the recent killings of two students who had gone missing in July.

Manipur Police, CRPF, and RAF personnel were heavily deployed in Imphal Valley to maintain law and order during the protests.

A recent clash between RAF personnel and protesters resulted in injuries to 45 individuals, mainly students, as they demanded justice for the missing and deceased students. The personnel fired tear gas shells and baton-charged the students.

The Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) women's wing staged a demonstration in Churachandpur, demanding a CBI inquiry into the killing and rape of tribals during recent ethnic violence.

Mary Jone, ITLF women's wing convenor, questioned the lack of inquiries into violence against Kukis and demands justice for the tribal community.

The rally route in Churachandpur took the protesters through the streets, culminating at the Wall of Remembrance, where dummy coffins of those killed in the ethnic violence are kept.
