In Photos: Mumbai's CSMT, Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi illuminated in tricolour for Republic Day celebrations

The Delhi Police has been creating awareness on social media by asking people to alert them about any suspicious person, activity or article. The Delhi Police has also prohibited the flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms like para-gliders, para motors, hang gliders, UAVs, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small size-powered aircraft, quadcopters or para jumping from aircraft over the jurisdiction of Delhi till February 15, an official said. The Rashtrapati Bhavan was illuminated for Republic Day celebrations.

A multi-layer security cover has been put in place ahead of Republic Day celebrations in the national capital to thwart any untoward incident. Police have stepped up anti-sabotage checks, verification drives and patrolling. Around 6,000 security personnel will be deployed and a total of 24 help desks will be set up in Delhi for those who will attend the celebrations, the officials said. Meanwhile, Raisina Hills were seen illuminated in tricolour as part of Republic Day celebrations.

The Mumbai Traffic Police on Tuesday said that all roads around Shivaji Park in Dadar area will be closed for traffic on January 26 for the Republic Day parade. The traffic police in a detailed notification said that on 26 January due to the Republic Day parade at Shivaji Park ground, all the adjoining roads shall be closed for vehicular traffic from 06.00 hrs. to 12.00hrs. It said, in order to manage traffic, vehicular traffic on the said roads needs to be diverted temporarily by issuing an order.

The Supreme Court of India was also seen illuminated on Wednesday. Meanwhile, ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, the Delhi Police said that more than 150 CCTV cameras have been placed and some of them also have facial recognition system. Police said an NSG and DRDO's anti-drone team will also be deputed. Security personnel will be deployed on high-rise building in central Delhi and establishments will be sealed on January 25 like every year after anti-sabotage checks, they said, adding that the security personnel are equipped to deal with any kind of threats.
