Devendra Fadnavis, ministers attend 70th R-Day parade at Shivaji Park

70th Republic Day was celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm and spirit. The same was seen at Shivaji Park, Dadar, where the 70th Republic Day celebration took place as Governor Vidyasagar Rao hoisted the flag. The chief guest for the event was Mauritius Prime Minister Hon Pravind Jugnauth who was welcomed by Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis. The event was graced by ministers Vinod Tawde, Subhash Desai and Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagde. 70th Republic Day Parade was held with great enthusiasm and spirit at Shivaji Park in Dadar, Mumbai. The chief guest for the Republic Day parade was Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth who was welcomed by Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis.

The Republic Day Parade at Shivaji Park, Dadar was graced by ministers Vinod Tawde, Subhash Desai and Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagde. Forces of the Mumbai Traffic Police, Indian Army, and others displayed their powers as they ignited a sense of pride and gratitude among the attendees.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his good wishes to the countrymen on the occasion of the 70th Republic Day. "Happy Republic Day to all fellow Indians," Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted both in Hindi and English. While here in Mumbai, the Republic Day parade held at Shivaji Park, Dadar, the flag was hoisted by Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao.

The Republic Day parade saw chief guest Mauritius PM Pravind Jugnauth being welcomed by Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Devendra Fadnavis took to Twitter to share the pictures of the event. He wrote," Witnessing such moments ignite the feeling of immense pride and gratitude. Jai Hind!"

Addressing the crowd at Shivaji Park, Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao said, "Maharashtra has received USD 13.5 billion dollars of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) this financial year." He further added "I am sure, Maharashtra will become the first trillion dollar economy state by 2025. The government is also committed to further improving the ease of doing business in the state."

The Republic Day parade saw beautiful tableaux depicting the art and cultural diversity of Maharashtra as school girls and boys marched in tandem for the R-Day parade.

Republic Day is celebrated every year of 26 January as on this day the Indian Constitution came into effect in 1950. The Constitution Committee was headed by B. R. Ambedkar and the Constitution had replaced the Government of India Act, 1935.

A grand parade was held at Rajpath in New Delhi. South African president Cyril Ramaphosa was the chief guest of this year's Republic Day. After Nelson Mandela, Ramaphosa is the second South African President to be the chief guest to India's Republic Day.
