From left to right ( Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi with Mr. Vrajesh Unadkat )
Mr. Vrajesh Unadkat shares that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann ki Baat' was his inspiration. Around 6 years ago in 2015, Mr. Vrajesh Unadkat came up with this initiative with the help of his wife, Priyanka Unadkat. Having started with collecting waste paper from the houses in Surat, the couple now organizes campaigns under the name 'Pasti dan se Pustak dan' Donating Wastepaper. Vrajesh Unadkat had troubles initially as working had a few takers. With the help of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) workers, He used to visit from one school to another from one society to another, to encourage children to give away the books they no longer use.
Soon people and various people from different communities agreed to contribute their time for helping in gaining plenty of attention from the general public and people are now coming forward to do their part for the campaign. They have made a huge success collecting 1000kg paper waste within 15 days and the initiative was a success. They have several women and young girls as volunteers who would help set up book banks. They provide books to poor students who are not in the position to afford the costly educational books to study.
As per the campaign more than 1,00,000 notebooks have been converted from this waste and been donated to poor children whose families cannot afford to pay for their education. As of now, Vrajesh Unadkat Book campaign for the poor is operational mostly within Surat and outside Surat.
Finally, Mr. Vrajesh Unadkat has a political opinion as he is in charge of IT and Social media department for BJP, he says "Our party earlier has given a huge opportunity for various youths, new faces, in various sections for Social Service and Development. Further, he adds, being a youth I took the opportunity at an early age and ran various campaigns with the greatest determination from ward 21 south Surat and won with a huge margin of 23508 votes.
