Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds led to a dust storm-like situation in Mumbai on Monday, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a warning for the district. Power supply disruptions were reported in Matunga, Dadar, and Prabhadevi.
The IMD also raised its yellow alert to orange for Thane and Satara, where heavy downpour was witnessed. Various areas of Thane district, including Kalyan, Ambernath, Diva, and Mumbra, experienced heavy showers, while the eastern suburbs of Mumbai saw light drizzles.
Unseasonal showers were witnessed in parts of Gujarat, while strong winds accompanied by a duststorm hit Ahmedabad on Monday.
