Similarly, Rahul Gandhi condemned the incident, describing it as "extremely shameful and sad." He paid respect to the murdered soldier and sent condolences to his family, while also wishing the injured soldiers a speedy recovery.
"The cowardly terrorist attack on our Army convoy in Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir is extremely shameful and sad. I pay my humble tribute to the martyred soldier and express my condolences to his bereaved family. I hope that the soldiers injured in the attack recover as soon as possible," Rahul Gandhi stated in his post on X.
The attack, which occurred in the Poonch area, killed one Indian Air Force personnel and injured four others. The injured were taken to Udhampur for treatment, but regrettably, one of them died from his injuries.
Following the attack, security forces launched a search and cordon operation in the area. The vehicles used in the attack were secured at the air base near Shahsitar. It is worth remembering that elections in Jammu and Kashmir are now taking place in five phases from April 19 to May 20.
