On Wednesday, activists organised a morcha for various demands and tried to lay siege to the private residence of Devendra Fadnavis in Nagpur.
According to the police, they detained the activists before they could reach Dharampeth area and were released later.
The demands of the protesting workers include the creation of Vidarbha state and the rollback of the "hike" in power bills. They are also opposing the proposed power plant at Koradi near Nagpur.
The activists organised a march that started from Sanvidhan Square and was supposed to walk towards the residence of Devendra Fadnavis.
