A shocking incident unfolded in Muchhal village near Jandiala town as authorities apprehended a man after allegedly murdering his 20-year-old daughter. The grim act was reportedly driven by his anger over her spending a day away from home. In a horrifying display of brutality, he tied her lifeless body to a motorcycle and callously dragged it through the village. The police swiftly responded to the scene and made the arrest, PTI reported.
The accused, identified as Bau, a Nihang Sikh by profession working as a laborer, is now in police custody.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kuldeep Singh, the tragic event transpired when Bau's daughter left their residence on Wednesday without notifying her family. She returned the following day, which apparently triggered his rage. Fueled by anger, Bau reportedly subjected her to physical assault before using a sharp-edged weapon, leading to her untimely demise.
The situation turned even darker when the accused tied his daughter's body to a motorcycle and dragged it through the village. The shocking spectacle was captured by CCTV cameras in the vicinity, leaving witnesses in disbelief at the gruesome scene.

To further conceal his crime, Bau callously discarded his daughter's body on a nearby railway track. However, his attempt to evade justice was short-lived, as law enforcement swiftly tracked him down and apprehended him.
Bau has been charged under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to the crime of murder. The police are conducting a thorough investigation to gather all the necessary evidence and ensure that justice is served for this horrifying act.

Meanwhile, two brothers from Punjab's Jalandhar were brutally murdered in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh allegedly over a monetary dispute, police said on Friday.
They said the incident took place at Nalagarh on Thursday evening. The victims were identified as Varun, who used to work as an electrician in the district, and Kunal.
A maternal uncle of the deceased, Lokesh, told police that one Gaurav Gill of Punjab's Nakodar had asked his nephews to meet him over a monetary dispute.
When the two brothers refused to go to Nakodar to meet Gill, they were asked to come to a spot on the Nalagarh-Ramshehar road where three people on a motorcycle attacked them with sharp-edged weapons, a police official said.
The victims were found lying on the road and police rushed them to a hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead, he added.
Police checked CCTV footage from the area and put up check posts to nab the assailants, Superintendent of Police, Baddi, Mohit Chawla said, adding a case of murder has been registered. (Agencies)
