With a rise of 35,342 cases, India's Covid-19 tally climbed to 3,12,93,062 on Friday, while 483 more fatalities pushed the death toll due to the viral disease to 4,19,470, according to the Union Health Ministry. The national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.36 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.

Later in the day, Union Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar informed the Lok Sabha that the Supreme Court's directive to the Centre to frame guidelines and declare compensation to the victims of Covid-19 is under consultation with all stakeholders.

Keeping in view the spread of Covid-19 in the country and declaration of the disease as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation, the central government treated it as a notified disaster for providing assistance under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for various containment measures, Pawar said.
