Union Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated the Bharatiya Janata Party's commitment to implementing a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) across the country, describing it as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assurance. Shah criticised the Congress for advocating personal laws and vowed to support the BJP's position against such practices.
Addressing a rally in the Piprai area of Ashoknagar district, Guna Lok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh, Shah attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that the BJP would not allow personal laws as long as it was in power. He reaffirmed Modi's vow to enforce the UCC statewide, citing its effective implementation in Uttarakhand, reported PTI.
"Rahul Baba, you can do whatever you want for appeasement. As long as the BJP is there, it will not allow personal laws. It is our promise and a guarantee of Modiji that we will implement UCC in the entire country as we have done in Uttarakhand," Amit Shah said, per PTI report.
According to the report, Shah also commended the Modi government's efforts to eradicate Naxalism and terrorism from the country. Referring to the repeal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, he condemned the Congress' approach to terrorism, contrasting it with the decisive moves taken by the Modi administration.

"In 2019, the Modi government abrogated Article 370 in just one stroke. Rahul Baba got afraid and said that rivers of blood will flow...But Rahul Baba, this is not a Congress government...It's the Modi government. They don't even have the courage to hurl a single stone, let alone talk about rivers of blood. The government has freed the country from terrorism and Naxalism and also liberated Madhya Pradesh from it," Shah added.
Furthermore, Shah, during his rally amid Lok Sabha Elections 2024, chastised senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Digvijaya Singh for refusing invitations to attend the consecration of Ram Lalla's idol in Ayodhya. He accused them of putting vote-bank politics ahead of national interests and denounced their nearly seven-decade-long disregard of the Ram temple construction problem, the report added.
Shah asked voters not to forgive anyone who declined to attend the idol consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, emphasising the event's importance to the nation. He chastised the Congress for upholding Article 370, which he claimed fueled terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, and emphasised the Modi government's role in its removal.
Ahead of the next Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Rajgarh and other constituencies, Shah gathered support for the BJP, emphasising the party's commitment to national security and cultural heritage, while condemning the Congress's attitude on personal laws and terrorism.
