It was a love story cut short on the New Year's Eve. A young man who didn't like his sister have an affair with a guy killed him brutally and later burnt his body.

The incident came to light when on January 1, the police found a half burnt body of a young man in Dakshinpuri area of South East Delhi. The deceased was identified as Vaibhav Mishra, 28, an executive with Reliance.



According to OP Mishra, DCP (South East Delhi), a burnt bike belonging to Vaibhav was also recovered from the site. "The preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had left his house on New Year's eve for a party with his friends. It also came to light that the deceased was having an affair with a girl," said Mishra.
Taking a lead from there, the cops called the girl's brother Surender (22) for questioning.

"During questioning, Surender admitted that the deceased was having an affair with his sister and he didn't like that. So he planned to kill Vaibhav. Somehow he got to know that Vaibhav had gone to attend a party on the New Year's eve. After Vaibhav left the party and reached near Auto Market in Dakshinpuri on his motorcycle, Surender and his four friends stopped him and overpowered him.

They then took him to the backside of the market and beat him with stones and sticks. Since the deceased was under influence of liquor, he could not resist. Later, all of them threw Vaibhav on the ground and placed his motorcycle on top of him. They then poured petrol on Vaibhav and set him and his motorcycle on the fire. After burning the body, all the accused escaped from the spot," Mishra added.

Police has arrested Surender, his friends Rajiv (24), Anand Prakashu00a0 (24), Anil (19) and Rahul (21) on charges of murdering Vaibhav.

Obscene messages lead to death

On January 1, an executive of a private company was killed in daylight in Vikaspuri area of Delhi. The police have arrested two friends of the deceased in connection with the murder.
According to police, the deceased Rocky used to send obscene messages to the girlfriend of accused Harnaam. Angry over this, Harnaam planned to kill Rocky. For this he took help of his friend Harjeet. The duo stopped Rocky's car in Vikaspuri area, pulled him out from the car and stabbed him to death.
