Victim feels harassed as Delhi, Noida police jurisdiction issue delays lodging of caseCall it adding insult to injury.u00a0 After being robbed on DND flyway in the middle of the night, when a victim tried to report the crime, he was in for a more rude shock. The jurisdiction issues between Delhi and Noida police ensured that he had to run from pillar to post to get his plea heard.
"I was attacked at around 11.30 pm on Tuesday and immediately informed the guards on the flyway and Delhi police. The police reached the spot first but they didn't register the case and sent us to Noida police. When we reached Noida's sector 20 police station, the officials there were unaware of the incident and asked us to go back to Delhi police. Seeing their reaction it was clear that they wanted to pass the buck. So I didn't get the case registered," said Manoj Mohan who works with theu00a0 Jaypee group.
On Tuesday night, Mohan was heading towards his residence in Delhi on his bike with a friend when four robbers stopped him at gunpoint on the toll road and took away his mobile phone and purse. According to Manoj, these robbers were in their early 20s and were commuting on two bikes.
Manoj has now sent a written complaint on behalf of his company to the SSP Noida asking police to ensure safety of employees coming to work in Noida.
Both police forces have however different tale to tell. According to a senior police official of Noida, the complainant came to them late in the night and said that they had been sent here by Delhi Police.
"We went with them and examined the area where the crime was committed.
As the area comes under the jurisdiction of Delhi Police, so we asked them to go back," he said. The case was then finally registered by Delhi Police at Sunlight colony police station.
