After the biker gang, the streets of Delhi are witnessing terror unleashed by the 'scooter gang.' Police say that the gang that seems to be operating in south Delhi's Saket area has a peculiar modus operandi.

"The assailants come on a 'grey scooter' and stop in front of the victim on the pretext of asking an address. As the victim tells them the address, they threaten him with a firearm and scoot off with his valuables," said a police official on condition of anonymity.

In a recent incident, TSR driver Baldev Singh was heading to Max Hospital to see his wife who was undergoing treatment there. He had on him Rs 2.5 lakh in cash. When he reached the fish market near Pushp Vihar, he was stopped by four persons travelling on two scooters. "They put a handkerchief that had been doused with chloroform on his face and rendered him unconscious. When Baldev regained consciousness, he found himself in AIIMS and his money was missing. He later lodged an FIR.

A day after this incident, a driver working with the German Embassy was robbed of Rs 35,000 and a cell phone. "Rupesh Kumar, the victim, lives in Lado Sarai and works with the German Embassy. After dropping the staff and parking the official car, he was returning home when he was stopped by four persons on two scooters near a government nursery in the area. They took away all his cash at gun point," said the police.

Two persons on a scooter also attacked a woman after she was returning home. "After collecting her degree from Amity University, the victim Durga was returning home with her friends. When she reached near T-Point, Khokha Market, two persons on a scooter attacked her and snatched her chain and valuables and rode away," said the police.

A chartered accountant with a private firm Vikas Mahajan too fell prey to the gang while he was travelling in an auto-rickshaw near Saket. "Near the Metro Station he was stopped by two persons who were on a scooter. They handed him a piece of paper and asked him to locate the address.

As Vikas tried to read the slip, they took out a pistolu00a0 and asked him to remove his ring and rode away, sources said. So far police have not been able to get any clue about this gang and none of the cases have been solved so far.
