Two year-old girl assaulted at Ghatkopar

In a shocking incident, a two year-old girl was assaulted in Ghatkopar on Friday evening following which she was taken to Rajawadi hospital on Saturday afternoon.

Confirming the same, doctors at the hospital, said, "At around 3.25 pm on Saturday, the victim's family brought her here. We have collected the vaginal swabs which will be sent to the lab for further investigation."

The family was instructed by the hospital to go and approach the Pant Nagar police station and lodge a complaint.

On Friday evening, the mother of the victim saw blood oozing from the private parts of the victim after which she realised that her daughter had been assaulted. The family suspects the involvement of a 16 year-old boy who stays in their nieghbourhood.

Speaking to MiD DAY, DCP Sanjay Shintre, said, "It is true that the assault has taken place. We have already done a preliminary medical check-up of the victim but the reports are negative. Though we are trying to convince her family members to register a complaint, they are refusing to do so."u00a0
