Two powerful bombs, planted by suspected militants to attack security personnel, were recovered from a roadside area at Gelmol in Manipur, police officials said today


Imphal: Two powerful bombs, planted by suspected militants to attack security personnel, were recovered from a roadside area at Gelmol in Manipur, police officials said today.

The bombs were detected by a Road Opening Party of the J&K Light Infantry last evening. The bombs were later defused, they said.

Meanwhile, four arm smugglers were arrested during achecking at Khudengtabi area near Indo-Myanmar border in Chandel district yesterday. The items seized from them include two assault rifles, some ammunition, a mobile phone and Rs 21,890, an official report said.
