10 injured as a low-floor bus rams into road divider in south Delhi

After being in news recently for a spate of fire incidents, the low-floor DTC bus has again come under criticism. And this time it is due to a road accident. At least 10 passengers of a speeding low-flooru00a0 bus were injured on Sunday when the vehicle rammed into a road divider in south Delhi.

The incident took place at around 7.30 am in Lajpat Nagar when the bus plying between Badarpur Border and Wazirpur hit the divider.

According to police, the bus was in full speed when the incident took place. The driver had lost control over the wheels.

"The driver and conductor of the bus fled the spot.

The passengers were left stranded on the road,"said a police official.

Nine low-floor buses of the DTC have caught fire in the past 25 days. The Delhi government has instituted an inquiry into the series of such incidents.

About 900 low-floor buses were brought in to replace the killer Blueline fleet of the Capital two years ago.
