A scuffle broke out in a moving bus after two passengers who were allegedly drunk, refused to buy tickets for their kids yesterday. The bus on its way to Neelasandra had picked up the family of seven, including two women and three kids at Shivajinagar bus station at about 10.15 pm last night. While nearing Ashok Nagar, the conductor Mohammad Dastujin (37), approached the family for tickets.

The men refused to pay for their kids claiming they were too young to need tickets and took to violence to prove their point. The conductor dropped his moneybag during the brawl and had his shirt torn by the bullies.

Dastujin, said, "They grabbed my wrist and said they won't pay. But these children were above five years so I insisted that they pay."

Though the bus had about 20 more passengers, no one intervened. D Ravi (51), the driver of bus, said, "They all just sat there and watched. But when the money fell then they came forward. Luckily none of the cash is missing. At least no one robbed us."

Both driver and conductor arrived at Ashok Nagar police station to report the incident at 10.45 pm, and a non-cognisable report has been filed. PSI Lakshmi Devi, said, "Luckily no one was injured. In such cases we advise the driver to drive straight to the closest police station."

She added, "Since the assailants got away we won't be able to identify them. We can only advise the drivers to be careful an do the smart thing."
