Thed Pakistan army on Monday twice violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district by resorting to unprovoked firing at Indian positions


Jammu: The Pakistan army on Monday twice violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district by resorting to unprovoked firing at Indian positions.

"Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked firing at our positions in Krishna Ghati sector of LoC twice during the last 12 hours," Colonel Manish Mehta, a defence spokesman, told IANS in Jammu on Monday.

"Pakistan army used small arms and rockets to target our positions at 12 a.m. today (Monday). The firing lasted for half an hour," Col. Mehta said.

"In the morning, Pakistan troops again resorted to unprovoked firing at 6 a.m. This time, the firing lasted for ten minutes. Our troops did not retaliate. No casualty or damage occurred on our side," he added.
