Hard Rock Cafe ends the breast cancer awareness month with a battle of the bands, specially concocted pink drinks, an awareness meet and free lunch

What do you call it when two rock bands battle it out while you sip on your Berry Blush Martini? "Pinktober," answers Amit Keswani, of Hard Rock Cafe.

October is the breast cancer awareness month and there have been enough events, from talks to seminars, to highlight the issue. But expect a nightclub to give the subject a different twist.

Tonight, Hard Rock Cafu00e9 along with Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) will host the Pinktober event.

Be sure to get in early and place an order of any of the 'Pink for a cure' drinks that have been specially created for the evening.

A portion of the sales of these drinks called Pink Pledge (Rs 325 + taxes), Lovely Limonata (Rs 325+ taxes), Wildberry Smoothie (Rs 185 + taxes) and Berry Blush Martini (Rs 300+ taxes) will go to CPAA. For once, getting drunk won't send you on a guilt trip.

Mumbai-based Electronica and Rock band Medusa will perform for the Pinktober evening at Hard Rock Cafe tonight

Once you've downed a few drinks, it's time to witness the Battle of The Bands, featuring New Zealand-based rock band Solstate and Mumbai's own Electronica and Rock band Medusa. "We'll have both bands playing against each other from 9.30 pm onwards.

The entry fee for the gig will be entirely donated to CPAA," says Keswani. After spending your moolah on the gig and your share of drinks if you are still feeling generous, pick up Pinktober keychains, pins and tees. Again, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to CPAA.

The next day, after you've sobered up but still feeling gung-ho about the cause head out to HRC where you can attend an awareness workshop and play a game of Bingo. Make sure to dress in pink and stay back for the free lunch.

On: Tonight at 9 pm; Tomorrow at 11 am at Hard Rock Cafe, Bombay Dyeing Mills Compound, Pandurang Budhkar Marg, Worli. Call: 66155959. Entry: Rs 100 (for the gig; workshop entry is free)
