Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) officials arrested a 26-year-old entrepreneur from a rented flat in Koregaon Park area for possession of banned drugs.

An MBA graduate who ran his own financial consultancy firm from the flat, Gaurav Harish Isar had stocked upu00a0 on cocaine and charas and was allegedly selling them.

Drugs found
At least 23 grams of cocaine, worth Rs 2.3 lakh, and 56 grams of charas, worth Rs 28,000, was seized from
his apartment in Koregaon Park late Saturday, the police said.

On a tip off, a team of ANC under police's economic offences wing, raided the building and arrested Isar. Satish Devre, Police Inspector of the ANC said, "Isar was addicted for the two to three years and had bought them from Mumbai. As per the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, a person is prosecuted for possession of cocaine if its quantity is above 3 grams for individual consumption and above 100 grams for commercial purpose. The limits for charas are 50 grams and 2 kg respectively. We suspect him to have brought these drugs here for sale as the quantity is much higher. We will be checking his phone records to get more threads into the matter."

The police also found small polythene bags, otherwise used by peddlers, to sell drugs in smaller quantities.

Devre said, "The accused is an MBA graduate and is from Aurangabad. He was staying in the city since the last six years and shifted to Koregaon Park five months ago."

Isar, however, has told the police that the drugs seized were meant for his personal consumption.

Meanwhile, the police have seized his two-cell phones and will be checking call details registry to verify his claims.

According to the security guard posted outside Isar's building, Guarav was staying alone and was seen out of his house only on few occasions.
