The school-level National Talent Search (NTS) and National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) exams that were scheduled for Sunday were postponed by the Maharashtra State Examination Council after the death of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray. Both exams will now held on Wednesday, November 21

"We received many phone calls from across the state requesting us to postpone the exams as many students were finding it difficult to reach examination centres on Sunday," said Maharashtra State Examination Council Commissioner Mahaveer Mane.u00a0

The Maharashtra State Examination Council is the organisational body for both the national-level examinations. The NMMS is an exam taken in Std VIII and this year 82,000 students have registered for the exam across the state. The NTS is an exam for Std X students and 62,000 students are set to appear for it this year.u00a0
