Mumbai: Fed up with case being delayed, accused flings shoe on judge

An accused who is facing trial under murder case, on Tuesday at around 12.15 pm threw his shoes at a Sessions Court judge. This is a second incident in the same month.

The accused Mubarak Momin Khan was arrested along with his four associates by Powai police in 2014 in a murder case. He was produced before the court for extension of his judicial custody. Currently, his case is listed under a section of charge framing.

According to police, "After entering the court, Khan suddenly hurled his chappal towards the Judge D G Murumkar which hit the table and fell down near the chair. Khan had earlier requested to either commence the hearing of his case or grant him the bail."

A case was registered at Colaba Police station regarding the same.

Another incident of the same nature happened on February 9 where an robber Madan Chouhan had flung a shoe at a sessions court judge, S V Patil, in the courtroom.

Chouhan told police that he was fed up with the delays in his case.
