Itu00a0was a sight which would make any one proud. More than 3,000 students attended the 1st Parliament of Indian Student Council Leaders or Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad meet at MIT college that started yesterday.
Students from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and many other places were present to attend the three-day conference. About 8,000 students have registered for the event.
Chief Minister Prithiviraj Chavan, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Kapil Sibal, Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra Rajesh Tope, Founder of MIT group of Institutions Dru00a0 Vishwanath D Karad, Dean, MIT School of Government Rahul V Karad, Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal, director Subhash Ghai, actor Nana Patekar and many others were present for the opening ceremony. In the first ever parliament council, 11 topics of discussions will be presented by numerous eminent guests including Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Ashutosh Gowariker, N R Narayana Murthy and many others. At the end of each discussions, resolutions will be taken by the students. "The resolutions, which could be 11 or more, will be sent to the central government for their reference," said Rahul Karad.
The motto of the event is to get student leaders under a common platform, inform and educate them about the various issues that are happening and are important to the country. It was interesting to see that a large number of students took interest and made the effort to participate in the programme involving politics.
