Puneites will no longer have to make the rounds to the talathi's office or have to wait endlessly to complete procedures regarding land dealings, as Haveli taluka is all set to undertake mutation entries online and facilitate citizens with an online 7/12 land extract record by the end of next month.
Half of the areas within the Pune Municipal Corporation limits come under the Haveli taluka, while the entire area of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation comes under this taluka. Around hundred villages on the outskirts of the city would also benfit from the online land records.
The implementation of online mutation is significant for Haveli because of the increasing land deals in the taluka. Around 2.76 lakh land records were scanned till Tuesday.
"For the past one year, we have been working on the scanning and quality checking of land records. Besides six villages, almost all work has been completed," said Haveli Tehsildar Sandesh Shirke. He added that through this facility, a landowner would be able to get the latest certificate of 7/12 extract within a period of fifteen days and will also be able to view the status of the certificate online.
Elaborating on the benefits of the online land record system, Shirke said, "Earlier, the 7/12 land extract record system was manual and used to sometimes even take two years to get the certificate. After the online system is implemented, 30 to 40 people can avail of the 7/12 extract or mutation entry in one day. The fees charged for it would increase the revenue of the state government."
Previously in 2010, Mulshi taluka undertook the online land record management system, while in 2011 Baramati, Khed, Maval and Purandar Taluka started the online land mutation entry system.
