The Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested two clerks of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday on charges of aiding the pilots in obtaining the flying licenses on basis of forged documents.

"The accused DGCA officials identified as Jyoti Bhattacharya and Mohammed K Ansari had taken huge sums of money from two pilots Abhishek Kaushik and Hiren Nagar to help them secure Commercial Pilot Licenses (CPL) despite knowing the fact that their documents were forged.

Hiren and Abhishek have already been arrested by the Crime Branch. The two (Ansari and Jyoti) were arrested following the statement given by the pilots," said DCP (Crime Branch) Ashok Chand.

The DCP said that Ansari was currently posted in finance section of DGCA. He was earlier posted with the Commercial Pilot Licenses section between May 2006 and April 2008. The other accused Bhattacharya was currently posted in Cash and General Section.

However between June 2008 and December 2009, he too was posted in the CPL section. Police said that the CPLs were issued to Kaushik and Nagar during June 2008 and December 2009.

With the arrest of these two, the police have till now arrested 10 persons in the fake pilot scam that include five pilots, three DGCA officials and two touts while three pilots, Sawran Singh, Bhupender and Syed Ali are on the run.

The police have asked them to join investigations. Two others have been apprehended by Rajasthan police in Jaipur. Sources said a few more cases of fake pilots have come to fore and investigations in this case are on.
